Summary
Intelligent Content provides technical writing services and specialist journalism and editorial skills for projects that require deep technical knowledge. This will be of particular interest to people who have to communicate technology issues to a wider audience whilst retaining a high degree of scientific accuracy.
Communicating technology
The ability to understand technology is one thing, but the ability to communicate why it's interesting or important is another. If you're a technologist it requires you to sit outside your area of expertise (your default mode) and to see things through the eyes of the people you're writing for. If you're not from a technology background the job is probably harder because in order to be accurate you need to know where not to compromise. You need to have enough knowledge of and respect for the way science is done to stay on the right side of the boundary between fact and fiction—getting the balance right is actually quite a difficult thing.
Intelligent Content has award-winning expertise in writing about technology and in 2007, our Technical Director, Paul Anderson, was awarded the Computer Science Writer of the Year prize.
So, if you have a technology-related project that needs specialist research and communication skills, maybe a clever dissemination strategy or just a bit of joined-up thinking, then we may be able to help. We could provide you with a technical journalist to write up a conference report or maybe a managing author or editor to bring together a bigger, more collaborative publication. Or you could just ask us to do the whole thing.
